  • What About Insurance?

    Intrepid Counseling is an Out of Network provider

    Intrepid Counseling does not bill insurance providers directly and is not listed as an in-network provider for any insurance companies. This is because our clients live in such diverse locations and move so often, that billing the correct insurance in the correct way would take away from the time we have to see more clients. Instead, we will provide you with a Superbill which is a receipt document that contains all the information your insurance company will need to reimburse you at their out of network rate. If there is not an in-network provider in your area, it is possible that the insurance company may reimburse you at the in network rate.

    To determine your Out-of-Network mental health coverage, call your provider and ask the following questions:

    What are my mental health benefits?What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

    How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?

    How much does my insurance pay for an Out-of-Network provider?

    Is approval required from my primary care physician?

    Payment

    I will send you an invoice after each session using the Adaptive Telehealth client portal. You will have the opportunity click a link there to use PayPal to pay after each session. This will likely result in confirmation emails from PayPal in your email inbox. If you would like to use a different payment method, Intrepid Counseling also accepts checks.

    Cancellation Policy

    If you live in an area where internet outages are common, we will discuss how to mange it when internet-outages prevent our sessions.
    If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
